About Me & The Bakery

Me - Emily
Well.. I'm possibly the biggest feeder you'll ever meet. I absolutely love food and, more specifically, baking.
I've worked in hospitality for the past 10 years so you may have seen me around!
As much as I loved working with and around food, the route to be a chef hadn't always appealed to me as, through my work, I saw how little interaction you had with people and this was something I always enjoyed.
Strettea Bakery
A couple of years ago, I found a course in Artisan Food Production at The School of Artisan Food at the Welbeck Estate. This course allowed me to bake and develop skills, but also gave me the opportunity to see what I would be able to start up on my own.
After 2 years of study and inspiration, Strettea Bakery was officially started in May 2021 (although my secret bread lovers had me producing weekly items since June 2020!).
My main focus through creating this little bakery is to bring you the most delicious items, made with absolutely minimal ingredients but of the highest quality around my local area of Higham. I don't believe there needs to be anything hidden in your food to make it last longer. If you want something that lasts for weeks and weeks, this won't be it. If you want to enjoy something whilst it's fresh, and have a little treat every now and again, this is why I create what I do.
I've been waiting for the past two years for the perfect space to bake in and bring you freshly baked pastries and coffee in a morning. This is something that hasn't happened quite yet, so we've invested instead in a minibus which we are currently renovating that will become our mobile bakery!
Keep tuned on social media for updates over the next few months and I can't wait to show you the 'Bread Bus' and get out on the road!
